1. TIME AND DURATION

  • The 58th International Children's Games will take place from 1st August 2026 to 6th August, 2026 in Hualien County, Taiwan.

2. PROGRAMME

The program of the 58th International Children's Games includes the following disciplines:

  • Individual Sports: Athletics, Swimming, Table tennis, Tennis, Taekwondo, and Archery.
  • Team Sports: Football, Basketball (3v3).

For team sports and combat sports each team or individual must have 2 different colors of sport uniform.

3. PARTICIPANTS

Athletics - one coach, Swimming - one coach, Table tennis - one coach, Tennis - one coach, Football Boys - one coach, Football Girls - one coach, Basketball Boys - one coach, Basketball Girls - one coach, Taekwondo - one coach, Archery - one coach.

  • Up to 18 athletes and 4 coaches per Delegation (one coach per team or sport) and each Delegation can participate in a maximum of 4 different competitions.
  • Participating athletes must reside or attend school or be a member of a club, in the city which they represent.
  • Athletes must be 12 years old by January 1st in the year of the Games, and must still be 15 years old on December 31st, in the year of the Games. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Athletes can only compete in one sport and represent only one city.
  • Coaches please note:
  • 4 Coaches maximum per Delegation (only if participating in 4 of the above). If there are both boys and girls in the Delegation, there must be at least one male and one female coach.

4. IDENTITY CARD, CONTROL AND SANCTIONS

  • All participants of the Games (athletes, coaches, other participants) need to have identification cards, made by the organizer of the Games. The ID card must include the Participant's photo, sport, the first and last name, City and Country.
  • The Team Manager is obliged to give accurate data for the ID cards. The Team Manager may need to make access available to all information including legal documentation on their team, in case of any complaint or issues. It is therefore advisable to bring copies of all documentation to the Games.
  • In the case of fraud, the City will be obliged to pay all penalty expenses and fines imposed by the Executive Committee of ICG.
  • The Referee of the appointed sport as well as the Head of Competition must inspect the athlete's ID card before commencing the competition.
  • All athletes must show their accreditation cards with a photo; without this card an athlete cannot compete. NO EXCEPTIONS.

5. TECHNICAL MEETINGS

  • Some 4-6 weeks prior to the Games, the Technical Board will visit the facilities and have Technical Meetings with Tournament Directors and Head Referees of all sports. Sports draws for groups etc., will be made at this time.
  • On Practice Day, a joint Technical Meeting will be held with Technical Commission members, Tournament Directors, Team Managers and all coaches, followed by individual Technical Meetings between each TC Member, their Tournament Director and coaches for that sport.

6. AUTHORITY AND JURISDICTION

  • A Team Manager may file a sport protest. To do so they will follow the Sport Protest procedure for the International Children's Games.
  • All sport protests will be heard and either denied or investigated by the ICG Protest Committee. The Protest Committee members could include: Representative of the Host City, Vice President of ICG, Member of ICG TC, Referee of the sport, The Head Referee for the Games.
  • All decisions by the Protest Committee are final and binding.
  • Sports Protests must be initiated, in writing, by the City's Team Manager, as soon as possible after the incident, which is the subject of the protest. The protest must provide the details necessary for the Committee's review and should be submitted to the Head Referee for that sport or any one of the Protest Committee members.
  • All protests require a 100 Euros (or equivalent other currency) protest fee to be paid to the ICG before a protest will be heard. Only one protest by a city's Team Manager can be filed per sport incident.
  • If the Team Manager refuses, or is unable to submit a protest in writing, the Protest Committee may exercise its discretion and investigate the protest.
  • Subject to any limits imposed either by law or by this procedure, information (whether oral or written) which is created, gathered, received, or compiled through the course of an investigation will be treated as confidential by all involved in the investigation and adjudication of the protest Disciplinary Rules.

7. CODE OF CONDUCT

  • The ICG Code of Conduct must be adhered to at all times by all Team Managers, Athletes and Coaches.
  • Team Managers, athletes and coaches will be excluded from the Games for indecent behavior, offence made through words and/or actions, violent behavior, abusive language etc.
  • All Delegations must comply with any instruction given by the venue staff.
  • Coaches are responsible for the safety, well-being and behavior of their athletes at all times.

8. MEDAL CEREMONIES

  • The top 3 athletes/teams will be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals.
  • No medals will be awarded to coaches.
  • No flags of any type, city or country, will be allowed to be displayed at the Medal Ceremonies.
  • Athletes must wear their competition uniform or team tracksuit for the ceremony.
  • Coaches are requested to assist in ensuring athletes are readily available and correctly dressed for the medal presentations.

9. MEDICAL SERVICES

  • First Aid, sports injury prevention and emergency medical services should be available at competition venues.
  • A full Medical Service will be provided at various hospitals in Hualien.

10. SPECIAL NOTE

  • No changes can be made to any part of the ICG Technical Handbooks without the consent of the International Children's Games.
