Connecting the World Through Sports, Promoting Friendship and Peace
The International Children's Games (ICG) was founded in 1968 by Slovenian coach Metod Klemenc, who believed that sports can bridge differences in culture, religion, and race. Deeply influenced by the aftermath of World War II, he envisioned a global platform where youth from all nations could come together in friendship and peace through sport. Upholding the core principles of being non-political, non-religious, and non-racial, the ICG encourages young athletes to learn teamwork, fair play, and perseverance while embracing diversity and cultural understanding through competition and exchange. Recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the ICG has, over more than fifty years, grown into one of the world's most representative youth sports events, gathering thousands of young athletes and coaches from cities across the globe.

The 58th International Children's Games in 2026 will be hosted for the first time in Taiwan by the Hualien County Government.
